On December 28th, just a few days ago, Karen and Jack celebrated their second wedding together! Well, that’s not strictly true.
Jack grew up in a small farming town in Herefordshire, whilst Karen’s hometown was in Wisconsin. They met whilst studying at university in the U.S. and recently decided to get married…..but where would they get married, the U.S. or U.K.? In the end, they opted for both. A celebration wedding took place earlier in the year in Wisconsin and then their official British wedding took place just a few days ago. We’ve known Jack since he was a young boy so it was an honour to be asked to cover their special day and it was lovely to get to know Karen better over the last few months. The day was particularly special for me as I had the opportunity to photograph a wedding at one of my favourite locations in the whole of the country – Dunfield House.
The day was fantastic and it was a real privilege to share it with Jack and Karen, so here’s a few of my favourite shots to give you a flavour of their celebrations.
It was an early start for Karen…

The rest of the bride’s party joined her a short while later.

And all this whilst taking phone enquiries!

I don’t normally get the chance to spend time with the lads as they make their preparations but the house was literally just up the road from the hairdressers so I managed to steal a few shots with them.

And then back to Dunfield House for last minute preps.

Something old and something blue.

The ceremony took place in a lovely church in New Radnor. Jack was ready and waiting….not too nervous as he’d done this before.

Walking down the aisle with her proud father.

For some reason the ceremony didn’t include the customary kissing of the bride……so Jack made up for it afterwards.

It was windy outside!!

Braving the cold, the happy couple allowed me to capture some portraits.

Back in to the warmth of Dunfield House.

It’s traditional in the U.S. for the maid of honour to give a speech.

You can rely on a ceilidh to get folks on their feet!

And of course……their first dance as an officially married couple.

The father of the bride’s dance.

Proud parents.

Partying into the evening.
